Setting Coupler and Fittings Sizes

This section is where you determine the use of couplers in the structure. You can specify coupler choices for handrails. Ledger joints, transoms, façade braces, ledger braces, plan braces, toeboard clips, all independently of each other.

Note: Intermediate transoms are always on singles unless specified as swivels when used jointly with doubles on the main transoms.

To set the couplers and fittings options for your scaffolds, do the following:

  1. From the Main page, press F6 or click on the Fittings button in the Optional Setup For Scaffolding Specialists Only! section.
  2. To Setup of Fittings screen displays.

  3. Select your option for Fittings on Handrails:
  • Doubles on Main and Singles on Endrails – choose this option if you want a combination using doubles for the longer main rails and singles for stop ends.
  • Use all Doubles
  • Use All Singles

     3.  Select your option for Fittings on Ledgers:

  • Use All Doubles
  • Use All Singles – This is an illegal selection but is available here and can be used only in circumstances where there are no other choices.

     4.  Select your option for Fittings on Façade Braces:

If it is attached to a transom, you may use doubles or swivels. If it is attached to a standard, you may use swivels.

  • Use All Doubles – If it is for a straight brace. ScaffPro counts one double tube per crossing. If it is for a zigzag brace, ScaffPro counts two double joints per crossing.
  • Use All Swivels - If it is for a straight brace. ScaffPro counts one swivel per tube crossing. If it is for a zigzag brace, ScaffPro counts two swivel joints per crossing.

     5.  Select your option for Fittings on Transoms:

  • Double Non-boarded Singles Boarded Lifts
  • Use Doubles Main
  • Use All Singles

     6.  Select your option for Fittings on Ledger Braces:

If it is attached to a ledger, use doubles. If it is attached to a standard, you may use swivels.

  • Use All Doubles – If it is for a straight brace. ScaffPro counts one double tube per crossing. If it is for a zigzag brace, ScaffPro counts two double joints per crossing.
  • Use All Swivels - If it is for a straight brace. ScaffPro counts one swivel per tube crossing. If it is for a zigzag brace, ScaffPro counts two swivel joints per crossing.

     7.  Select your option for Fittings on Plan Braces:

If it is attached to a ledger or transom, use swivels. If it is attached to a standard, you may use doubles or swivels.

  • Use All Doubles – If it is for a straight brace. ScaffPro counts one double tube per crossing. If it is for a zigzag brace, ScaffPro counts two double joints per crossing.
  • Use All Swivels - If it is for a straight brace. ScaffPro counts one swivel per tube crossing. If it is for a zigzag brace, ScaffPro counts two swivel joints per crossing.

     8.  Click on the appropriate checkbox(es) for the options you want for the estimations:

  • Do Not Use Putlogs in toeboards
  • Do Not Use Baseplates
  • Use Swivels on Inter. Transoms –
  • Use Double Check Fittings for Underslung Scaffolds
  • Use Doubles on Intermediate Transoms
